Garlo Support
Need help with a charge, your subscription or your account? Most answers are below. If yours isn't, email support@garlo.app. Please do not send passwords or card details.
I was charged and don't know why
Garlo is billed by Apple, so a renewal shows up as a receipt from Apple. Search your email for a receipt or invoice from Apple and check which Apple Account is on it. A family member's subscription has to be cancelled by them. No Apple receipt? The charge may be from another company, so check your bank or card statement.
Cancel my subscription
Apple handles billing, so you cancel on your iPhone. Open your subscriptions, or:
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Garlo.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down.
No Cancel button, or a red expiry message? It's already cancelled. On a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription. Cancelling stops future charges. It doesn't refund a charge already made. When the paid period ends, Garlo asks you to subscribe again, and your plans stay saved until you delete your account.
Get a refund
Apple takes the payment and decides refunds, so I can't see your card or issue one. Ask Apple:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Tap I'd like to, then Request a refund.
- Choose a reason, then Garlo, and submit.
Apple says to expect an update in 24 to 48 hours. A card refund can take up to 30 days to appear.
Restore my subscription
In Garlo, open Profile and tap Restore purchases. If nothing is found, check you're signed in with the Apple Account you subscribed with, check in-app purchases are allowed on this iPhone, and restart it. Still stuck after being charged? Email support@garlo.app with the date on your Apple receipt.
Delete my account
In Garlo, open Profile and tap Delete account. This deletes your account and your Garlo data straight away. If RevenueCat or PostHog, which hold your subscription and analytics records, can't be reached, Garlo tries again. Deleting doesn't cancel your subscription, so cancel that first. Can't get into the app? Email support@garlo.app and tell me what you can about the account, such as the email you sign in with.
An allergy concern
Garlo excludes recipes containing your allergens. Always check product labels.
Garlo works from a recipe's ingredients. It can't see the brand you buy, and products differ by brand and country. Labels don't always mention shared equipment, so ask the manufacturer if you're unsure.
Your doctor or allergist is the right person for questions about your allergy. If you think you're having a reaction, call your local emergency number. This inbox isn't watched around the clock.
If a recipe looks wrong for your allergy, email support@garlo.app with the recipe name and the allergen. I read these first.
Something else
Email support@garlo.app. Garlo is run by one person and I read every message. I usually reply within 1 working day.
